THE BUILDING MATERIAL

Now if anyone builds upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay or stubble, The work of each one shall be manifested; for the day of trial will declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall prove what kind of work each one’s is. If the work that anyone has built endures, he shall receive a reward. If the work of anyone is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet as through fire. I Corinthians 3:12-15 AFV

I was discussing faith and prayer and the problems of life with a young man. I got an understanding that enlightened me a lot. My mind's eye was opened to two types of block work for building houses. There is the first block made with full measurements of sand, cement and granite dust and allowed to cure well. There is the second one with more sand, less cement and no granite dust at all. Try putting nails on walls built with each of these blocks. You’ll see that the blocks made with correct materials are hard to penetrate while the ones made with the weak composition are easily penetrated and scatter easily.

Such is the life of a christian built and filled with the word of God and those with little word of God in them who depend on others to pray for them and make no effort to develop themselves. They are weak like the blocks made with substandard mixture.

As a believer, it is obligatory for you to get the word of God into your system and let it permeate every part and aspect of your life. When troubles come knocking your life like a nail on a wall, the word of God in your system resists the trouble. So having intercessors coupled with a life built on the word of God gives an impenetrable wall for the enemy. I leave you to think on this and work to get the word of God into your system dorectly.

Dear Father, I pray that you give me more understanding of how to build your word firmly into my system in the name of Jesus.
