ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL EXERCISE 2

We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to control his whole body. James 3:2 BSB

The tongue is a very tiny muscle in the body but is the controller of the direction of our life. We speak with the aid of the tongue and whatever we speak is heard by all around us including the one speaking. The word that you hear is what feeds your faith and your faith feeds what you become.

Try giving an instruction to a person near you and watch him react in response to what you say. Now if your tongue directs the course of your life, the first basic spiritual training is to train your mouth. You see, “Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21 BSB

Also hear Apostle Paul put it this way “for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. ”

Romans 10:10 NASB1995

You confess or speak your salvation. You are saved through what you confess, not necessarily what you believe if you don't confess it. Your heart may believe something but you bring it to pass with your confession. It means you need to train your mouth to speak what you believe and not otherwise.

Begin to watch what you say from today. What instructs your words? What you say is what you will have. Your visible circumstances now should not be your confession except you like it like that. If your heart believes you have or deserve better, that is what your mouth should say even when people think you are lying. For as long as you are not there yet, you should not because of pressure to give up on the confession of what you believe.

Dear Lord, thank You for showing me how important my tongue is in directing my life. Help me to train my tongue to give me life and not death in the name of Jesus.
