Healed By Mercy

May 15  1 Kings ch 2; John 14:1-18

HEALED BY MERCY

“For he longs for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill. Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow.” Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Epaphroditus a fellow worker with Paul was sick and almost died. Imagine how many prayers Paul and his other fellows would have prayed. Of course we are not told the nature of this sickness but it was bad enough to be life threatening. If a simple prayer and anointing with laying of hands had healed him, Paul would not have mentioned mercy and that he nearly died.

When all human efforts fail, mercy will open the necessary door that will save one from sorrow and suffering. A man was opening his shop diligently every day and he was not selling yet others near him were selling. He would pray and he offered the best prices yet he did not sell. One day, he prayed and said “Lord have mercy on me. Have mercy on me Lord Jesus and let me sell.” He kept asking the Lord for mercy. That day he sold something and he was grateful that he sold something at all. But since then, the door that mercy opened has not closed.

Let us recognize and appreciate the mercy of God in all that we do.
