What Do You Believe

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE

“ ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: It is time to check what we believe for the times are getting tough that people may only have faith as the currency they can use to get things done. Many people when they fall sick now cannot even afford to go to a government hospital which is supposed to be free or affordable for the common man. The most serious of it is that even the local herbs are very expensive except those that one can pluck around. Faith and prayers mumbled to God with surrender to whatever happens is what the common man does now.

Jesus gave the all purpose remedy that is attainable to whoever wishes to pursue it. It is not purchased with money but it is not cheap either. It is FAITH OR BELIEF. Because people use it casually, it has lost its importance or weight. They seek where they can get money to solve their problems and where that is not attainable, they lose all hope. Faith is equivalent to money in the spirit realm. The more faith you want, the more spiritual work you will do. Faith gave sight to blind people, faith raised the dead, faith gave children to elderly couples etc.  It is how much faith you have or the faith others around you have for you that will always work.  The father in the story of our text today believed his son could be healed and he had tried all sorts of means but Jesus told him if he could believe, then his son would be healed. The man said that he did believe but Jesus should help his unbelief. Then Jesus healed his child. As the Holy Spirit permits us, we shall look at how the people of the time of Jesus operated their faith and what we can learn from them in our own time.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will teach us the truth about faith and how we can live by it even when we become helpless in real life in the name of Jesus.
