The Universal Prayer

August 3.    Job ch 39-40; Acts 28:1-19

THE UNIVERSAL PRAYER

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of beings in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10-11 AFV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: If I were to start praying for every prayer request that I have for myself and people, I would not finish in a day. That, I found, is the state of every minister of God. Even in my private life, I don't know how to pray for everything I ought to pray about. There are many issues that lift their heads above the knowledge of God.

I sat to reason this with God for days and Philippians 2:10-11 was impressed in my heart. The name of Jesus causes every knee to bow in all realms of existence. So I asked the Lord if the name of Jesus is the universal prayer. My mind was enlightened to the fact that Jesus is the Amen of God to all God's promises. 2 Corinthians 1:20 and Revelation 3:14. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; Revelation 3:14 KJV

I asked the Holy Spirit so ‘if I keep calling the name of Jesus as my prayer, is that enough?’ I got a yes as an answer. I decided to practice.

I sang some hymns of praise and requested God to hear my prayers. Then I told God of the many problems I have and those of all who expect me to pray for them that I cannot itemise then I started calling Jesus. At first it seemed like there was nothing happening. I didn't feel I was praying. After struggling to keep at it without falling asleep and ignoring the thoughts that were coming to my heart for about thirty minutes, my mind was at peace. No thoughts came and I continued as I didn't feel like stopping yet. 

Then, I felt a presence around me and I heard ‘what can I do for you?’ I said ‘Lord have mercy on me and remove all the forces that block the will of God from being established in our lives.’ I heard ‘it is done according to your faith'. I burst into spontaneous thanksgiving and a peace developed deep within me. I was tired and praising God, I fell asleep. I will talk more about this tomorrow God willing.

I pray that God will give you a revelation of the name of Jesus as the rod of the stem of Jesse. Isaiah 11:1 and like the Spirit taught Moses how to use his shepherd's rod, God will teach you to navigate life with the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus.
