HOW TO SHED WORRY
February 15. Leviticus 14; Mark 1:1-18
HOW TO SHED WORRY
““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Yesterday, we saw Jesus’ response to the complaining Martha. He said only one thing is needful and good which Mary had chosen to her advantage and it will not be taken from her.
What is that good thing?
Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to listen to Him and learn of Him. She sat with Jesus to enjoy His company and perhaps pour her heart out to Him. I put myself as Jesus in this scene and imagine how I would feel towards each of the sisters. I would enjoy sharing fellowship and have someone listen to all I am going through in the hands of the Jews. Listen to how I was overcoming and thereby gain wisdom for her own life as she was a stigmatised person because of her past.
That said, for you and me, we are to sit at the feet of Jesus in our souls since He is no longer here in flesh. This you do by settling your mind on Jesus and speaking His promise to yourself. It can even be this Matthew 11:28. Anytime worry comes, speak it to yourself till peace replaces worry. I have lived like this over the years and it works. Repeat the promise to yourself as many times as it takes for peace to take over from worry. In peace, you will hear what God says to your heart that you should do to resolve the matter or what He will bring your way. Jesus gives your soul rest and gives you His easy solution to any of life’s challenges.
I leave you today to take this in and practise it to see if it works or not. Remember that you repeat the promise to yourself until peace takes over from worry.
I pray that Jesus will minister to your soul as soon as you set your mind on Him.
