Beware Of Overloading 2
February 14. Leviticus ch 12-13; Matthew ch 28
BEWARE OF OVERLOADING 2
“But the Lord replied to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.”” Luke 10:41-42 AMP
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Yesterday, we saw the overloading of the stomach with more food than it is designed to digest and how it can lead to discomfort. Today, we are going to look at how we can overload our minds with more than it is designed to carry which can hurt our emotions and cause imbalance.
Martha was burdened and anxious with the cares of entertaining Jesus. She grew some resentment for her sister Mary who didn't worry about entertaining Jesus who was their guest. Worry and anxiety is like running on the spot that takes one nowhere yet it consumes energy and tires one out.
Anxiety is not limited to worrying about entertaining visitors but worrying and being anxious over issues of life like what we shall eat or drink, how school fees will be paid, family issues, work place challenges and other matters arising. These amount to overloading one’s system and stress triggered diseases can result if done too much for too long.
I leave you today to examine where you have overloaded your mind with stuff that keeps your mind oscillating like the hinge of a door without moving anywhere. If you are tired or stressed, examine the things bothering your heart and see if you can do anything about them. Tomorrow God willing, we shall talk about the response of Jesus to worrying Martha.
I pray that your soul will find rest in the Lord Jesus who calls you to cast your burden on Him.
