HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I, like many people who have expressed their minds openly, wonder why all the preaching and teaching on getting rich that we hear in churches only work for the preachers and a very small minority of members. As I sat down to write, the Holy Spirit brought Proverbs 23:7 to my heart and gave me an understanding that sets whoever takes it free from bondage.

When preachers preach to you that if you give to God through them or their ‘projects for God’, you will receive a manifold in return. Some tell you to give until it hurts. I have heard and followed that teaching before and nothing happened to most of us in that assembly. When we got into trouble financially and went to them for help, all they offered most of the time was ‘use your faith.’ While telling you to give to get out of poverty, their hearts are not with you but with how they themselves will get out of poverty and keep you funding their lifestyles for more. 

Look at the account of the early church.  For neither was anyone among them in want; for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the amounts of those things that were sold, And laid the money at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to each one according to his need. Acts 4:34-35 AFV   This is not so again in today's church. Many people in the church cannot even meet their basic needs. So, how do you get out of bondage to poverty, disease and other evils?

The answer is in today's verse for consideration. Check and change your thinking and thoughts. This is a personal decision and a work with the Holy Spirit. I leave you with this and tomorrow we shall continue and see how to free your thinking to give you the life Jesus promises in the name of Jesus.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will enable you to analyse your thoughts to see and correct your thoughts to give you the life that Jesus promises in the name of Jesus.
