WHEN YOU BLESS YOUR ENEMY
📖
1 Samuel 26:24-25 AMP
[24] Now behold, just as your life was precious in my sight this day, so let my life be precious in the sight of the Lord, and may He rescue me from all distress.” [25] Then Saul said to David, “May you be blessed, my son David; you will both accomplish much and certainly prevail.” So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: If there is anything that we find difficult to obey in scriptures, it is forgiveness. It affects almost everybody even when you believe that you have mastered forgiveness, some offences will come that will defeat your ability to forgive for some time. When God took me to this scripture to see what happens when you can forgive those who offend you and bless your enemy, I was encouraged to do it more and let this story encourage you.
🤔
Saul considered David as his prime enemy that he should eliminate from the surface of the earth out of no fault of David’s. David left the town and was hiding from Saul. While he was in the bush by a rock, he saw Saul and all his soldiers asleep with all their weapons down. David moved close to him, took his weapon from beside him and escaped to the top of the mountain then called to Saul to see that he (David) had the opportunity to kill Saul but spared his life.
🫢
The good part of it for David and anyone who chooses to love and bless their enemies is David prayed that as Saul’s life was precious in his sight, let his (David’s) life be precious in God’s sight. This is a powerful request that will motivate any Christian to obey the commandment to forgive offenders. If I refuse to take vengeance or rain curses on my enemies, then God will use the same standard for me when I offend Him or someone else. I want my life to be precious before God so the life of my enemy must be precious in my sight. Even when God places him in my power, I should choose to bless and not curse him. I am to leave vengeance to God. Hear the prescription from God; ““Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. [Deut 32:35] “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on his head.” [Prov 25:21, 22] Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:19-21 AMP
🛐
I pray that you will make forgiving your enemies your will because it is God’s will in Jesus name.
