THE ULTIMATE OBJECT OF FAITH

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The issue of faith keeps coming to my mind from time to time. Today the Holy Spirit brought it again and I raised my confusion with Him. He pointed me to Jesus saying he prayed for Peter that his faith will not fail.

I looked closely at the passage of today and an understanding that comforted me greatly and cleared my confusion was given to me. The first, primary and ultimate aim of faith is eternity with God. Eternal Life. John 3:16. All other things are secondary. Listen to Jesus address the Jews: Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.” Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.” John 6:27-29 BSB So basically, faith is a steadfast belief in the name of Jesus for eternal life. All that the enemy of our souls does is to attack our faith in Jesus and steal eternal life from us. Tomorrow, we shall look at the relevance of faith in temporal demands.

Dear Father,thank you for sending Jesus to live, die and resurrect so that by faith in His name we become Your children. Open my eyes Father to see the love you have for me and live to love you too.
