WAITING FOR GOD

August 20.  Psalms ch 68-69; Romans 13:1-14:8

WAITING FOR GOD

📖

Yes, we wait for You, O Lord; we walk in the path of Your judgments. Your name and renown are the desire of our souls. My soul longs for You in the night; indeed, my spirit seeks You at dawn. For when Your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Isaiah 26:8-9 BSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Today the Lord wants to minister to those who have been waiting for Him and are frustrated and tired.

Waiting for God is not passive. It is an active work and that is why it is tiring and frustrating when it seems like God does not see or recognize the effort. Waiting for God involves obeying His precepts hoping that He will do what He promises on time. He is telling you that it is okay to be  tired. Let me share the testimony of a young man who wrote the JAMB exam for two years. He scored above the cut off point for his course but he was not admitted because he knew no one who would influence decisions for him in ‘high places’. He was tempted first to give up on his vision to attend the university but his mind did not let go. Then his friends told him about those he could pay to write the exams for him and speak for him when it was time for admission. He refused and said ‘God will make a way for me.’ At the third attempt, God came through for him and he was able to proudly testify to the power of God.

🤔

Patiently waiting for God is not fun. I have waited for God quite some times in the past and I am still having to wait for Him even now. It is okay and a sign of trust in God as Father to ask ‘how long O Lord?’ Several people cried the same way in the bible. Hear Habakkuk.

How long, O Lord, must I call for help but You do not hear, or cry out to You, “Violence!” but You do not save?  Habakkuk 1:2 BSB God’s answer is the same to them all the time. They are to continue in the precepts of God. At the fullness of time, they received their rewards. King Solomon the wisest king said to God that hope deferred makes the heart sick. Proverbs 13:12.

🤔

If you have been patiently waiting for God to come through for you,  He  is saying to you today that His grace is sufficient for you because in your weakness, His strength is made perfect. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Be encouraged because His thoughts towards you are thoughts of good and not of evil to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11. His grace will abound for you, hold on to Him.

🛐

Thank you Father for your word to those waiting for You walking in Your way. I pray that Your grace will take them through and they will be a testimony to Your power, faithfulness and love in the name of Jesus.
