For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:12-13 KJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: A woman from another faith was involved in a motor accident that claimed lives. She shouted ‘Jesus’ at the moment of the accident and her life was spared. A man gave a testimony of armed robbers that visited their compound and he kept calling the name of Jesus and they did not enter his room. There are many other testimonies like that and one ‘wonders’ why that is so.

Our scripture today says whoever  shall call on the Lord shall be saved.

There are two sides to salvation. There is salvation from eternal death. Faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus guarantees that. There is salvation from danger here on earth. In both cases, whoever shall call on the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved. 

Salvation from temporal danger is important but if you are not saved from eternal destruction it is worthless. Jesus came, lived, died and resurrected so that your sins are forgiven and the power to be acceptable to God comes upon you. Faith in Jesus makes you a child of God. If you don't believe this in your heart and confess it with your mouth, then you are not saved eternally. Jesus is calling you today to surrender your life to Him. He waits to save you.

Why is a person that does not profess Christ as his saviour saved from danger? Most people have heard about Jesus and believe in what He can do from testimonies that they hear from people. They refuse to surrender their lives to Him but they are convinced about His power to save from dangers deep within them. When they face troubles, they call on Him and He answers and saves them. Look into your life today, do you believe in and call on the name of Jesus for eternal salvation or just for what He can give?

Lord Jesus, thank You for your name that saves and delivers. I pray that we shall not use your name just for bread that perishes but for eternal salvation in the name of Jesus.
