ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL EXERCISE 3

“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit will not depart from you, and My words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth or from the mouths of your children and grandchildren, from now on and forevermore,” says the Lord. Isaiah 59:21 BSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: We all grew up with the language of where we were born and the particular vocabulary of our core home. Many times, the vocabulary we speak keeps manifesting in our lives and we cannot trace the things happening in our lives back to the language we spoke and probably still speaking the same vocabulary.

Now as Christians, what language should we speak? I found our text above difficult to practice when I first came across it some years back. I was too used to my speech that I would have spoken outside the word of God for days before I gathered myself again. Then I located the way to get the word of God into my mouth. 

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 BSB

I have to renew my mind and not conform to the world way of speaking about things and circumstances. In many cases, things happening around don't align with the word of God. Aligning your word with the word of God and holding on to it no matter what, will direct your life as God would have it.

I adopted reading through the Bible once a year so I will be familiar with the entire word of God. I learnt what God says about every area of life.  I read Christian books that explained scriptures and relate them to life. I found that my speech started changing to God’s word as my thoughts became the thoughts of God. I have peace that I cannot explain even when things are tough. Try to train your mouth to speak what God says.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your word that is open to whoever wants to listen. Thank you for making me receptive to your words. Help me to speak as you speak in the name of Jesus.
