KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

God has thoughts and because we are made in His image, we have thoughts too. Every good desire that we have comes from God. Man was made with good thoughts until his fall in the garden of Eden and since then, his thoughts always tend to evil.   “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ” Genesis 6:5 KJV. For man to align with God, he has to train his thoughts to be like God’s thoughts. The problem is that we are hardly mindful of our thoughts so it runs wild and tends towards wickedness. Man on his own and by himself cannot mind his thoughts. He needs a saviour and a total overhaul. This is why God said:  “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. ” Ezekiel 36:26 BSB.  God made provision for a new heart for man in Jesus Christ. God came as a Man in Him and died on the cross to take away the evil heart of man so that whoever believes in Him can have eternal life and the Holy Spirit will dwell in him to empower him to think good thoughts like God. Evil thoughts cannot enjoy eternal life so whoever wants to enjoy eternal life with God needs to invite Jesus into his heart.

When you have Jesus in your heart, you will stay your mind on the thoughts of good no matter how much you are pressured to think otherwise. All God’s thoughts towards you are recorded in the bible. The thoughts He had when He said ‘Let us make man in our own image…’ at the Garden of Eden. It is that thought that lives eternally. Today, if you have not taken the decision to accept Jesus into your heart, do it and begin your growth process by reading the bible and having fellowship with Bible believing and teaching believers.

Dear Lord Jesus, you are the complete thought of God become flesh. John 1:14 I pray that as we invite you into our hearts, we will allow your word to take on flesh in us in the name of Jesus.
