LIVING IN LOVE 2

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 BSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: God's kind of love (Agape) is an action love, or we can call it the action space of God. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to save the world. Now, let us look into the actions of Love.

Love is patient, Love is kind. Imagine if we all lived in the state of being patient till the other person flows with us or we reach an agreement that benefits all of us. Would there be wars and killings? Agape love is determined to be kind and patient.

Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Imagine a world where no national leader envies another nor boasts of his power to ‘weaker’ nations; how much peace we shall have. Even in interpersonal relationships, patience and kindness keep people alive. I know a woman whose husband was very abusive, but through her patience, kindness and humility, though she was bringing in more income, the marriage survived, while other marriages where patience and kindness were missing ended in divorce.

Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. When this action pack of love is guiding a person, he will be peaceful to relate with. Agape Love is not self-seeking. It seeks the good and well-being of everybody. If world leaders would remove their self-interests from governance by living in God's space, the world will have peace. Close your eyes and imagine a world where we live in God's love terrain.

Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. Love bears all things. This is where giving becomes tough when you have to bear anything in hope of peace. If you have ever had to bear being cheated or offended before, then you will appreciate the pain God went through to give His only Son, Jesus Christ, for the salvation of the world. It has been over 2,000 years now since Jesus died and resurrected to save the world, yet we still reject Him. Love is enduring the rejection patiently so that men may be saved and not perish. This is love that endures till eternity. Think about it and purpose to take God’s offer of love so that you may be empowered to love like Him.

Thank You, Jesus, for coming and living in God's love for us as an example. Help me to understand and love like You do, in the name of Jesus.
