HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Simply put, love is a three-pronged fork. Love is the stem that branches into three parts: love for God, love for your neighbour, and love for yourself. Once you enter into the space of God’s love, first, you will love the Lord your God with the totality of your being. That is the centeal prong. You love God by keeping His commands. It is an action of choosing God’s will over your will or any other will.

The second prong is to love yourself. This means that I must be patient with and kind to myself. Can a person not love himself? Yes. When you do things that hurt your body, like exposing yourself to excessive eating, overworking, not resting, adultery and the like, and you refuse to take good care of yourself in general, you do not love yourself. When you feed your soul with poison, when you hate, refuse to forgive others, are vengeful, and do those things that embitter your soul, then you do not love yourself. In the bubble of God’s love, anything outside Agape love for yourself will trigger your conscience.

The third prong is to love your neighbour as you love yourself. You have to be patient with your neighbour and kind to him, just as you would be with yourself. You do not hold on to his offence, and you rejoice when he succeeds. Apply all the actions of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 to your neighbour. If you do this, you have fulfilled all the laws. Think about this and see how deep you are in the Agape love bubble.

Dear Father, thank you for loving me. Please teach me to love You and my neighbour as I love myself, in the name of Jesus.
