HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The essence of reading Scripture is to get to know the nature of God. The impression we were given of God was that of a judge with a long stick, looking for someone to knock on the head. To have a soul-cleansing experience with God, this perspective must first be erased. The death of Jesus on the cross was the epitome of God's love for mankind. Many people therefore need to accept God's love rather than see Him only from the perspective of judgement.

It took me reading through the Bible several times to understand this. Once you can see God from the perspective of love and not judgement or even weakness, the stage is set for soul healing. Look at Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.” Say this and think about it until it settles in your soul.

Please note that you dictate how God responds to you. If you do not love, you will not receive love from God. It is not that He does not love you, but that you cannot receive it. If you are pure, God shows Himself pure to you. You receive from God what you yourself put out into life and towards others.

Healing of the soul involves the mind of man agreeing with the mind of God. God's mind is revealed in the Bible. The next aspect of healing has to do with money and possessions. The fact is that we all wish to acquire as much as possible for ourselves, no matter what happens to others.

Then I came across, “Give, and it shall be given to you” (Luke 6:38). It was then I saw that I was not giving as I should. It was not easy for me to give to others. I had to make Luke 6:38 my mantra for a long time before I started understanding giving, how to give, and when to give.

We shall look at giving according to God's plan tomorrow so that we can understand biblical giving that agrees with the mind of God. Think about how you view God and your attitude towards giving today. Tomorrow, we will look at giving according to God's plan.

Dear Lord, open our hearts to see that in love, You sustain us by continually giving of Yourself to us. I pray that we all learn to give others the good we want to see and enjoy in them. Let world leaders learn to give love to others so that the world can have peace, in the name of Jesus.
