“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

HAPPY DAY TO YOU:

It happened a couple of times before I noticed it. I was no longer getting angry to the point of fighting back. My thoughts were different, and I was more confident within myself.

I asked myself why, and I noticed that I had been reading the Bible extensively. At the time, I was reading at least ten chapters per day. Then I decided to read the Bible from cover to cover every month for seven months. It was tough, but I kept at it for seven months. I have not been able to do it again since then, but it changed my thoughts and inner being permanently.

What happened was that my soul was being cleansed by the washing of water by the word. Not everyone can read the whole Bible monthly, but if the Holy Spirit empowers you to do it, it will cleanse your soul quickly of all earthly thoughts.

What are the thoughts that need cleansing?

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Galatians 5:19–21 KJV

These are the thoughts of the natural man. They are the strength of an unclean mind. The word of God washes these unclean thoughts from your soul and heals it.

The word of God is spirit, and when you are saturated with it, it yields its fruit in your soul and life.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

Galatians 5:22–24 KJV

Against all these fruits, there is no law or offence. The more your soul is yielded to the Spirit of God, the more fearless it becomes because all things done to you will be seen through the eyes of love.

Apostle Paul thus says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Romans 12:2 KJV

You renew your mind with the word of God so that it becomes a light to your feet. Think on this meditation today, and tomorrow we shall discuss practical examples of how the word of God transforms and enlightens our path.

Dear Father, thank You for Your Spirit that gives us the power to stay in Your word. I pray that You revive us again to love Your word, even in a world that seems advanced enough yet cannot live in peace and rest, in the name of Jesus.
