GET COVERED BY GOD

June 11.  1 Chronicles ch 6; John 16:16-33

📖

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8 NIV

🤔

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I keep wondering why the prophets and saints of old were heard by God and He answered them immediately. The same words that moved the hands of God to help them will be said several times as we pray, shout and cry and it will take time for God to answer or not answer at all. As I was meditating and asking God this question, I got the impression in my spirit that those of old were near to God. The prophets and the apostles were so close to God that they counted every other thing as dust.

🤔

How do I draw near to God? How do I embrace or attach myself to God? The Psalmist taught us this lesson. My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word! I cling to your testimonies, O Lord; let me not be put to shame! Psalm 119:25, 31 ESV  The word ‘cling’ appears twice in the above quote. It is in reference to the soul. It is with our soul that we cling to God, or the dust signifying temporal things or to the devil. You can understand your mind or your thoughts or your heart. I understood recently that my heart or thought is what senses bad emotions and not

my body. You can confirm this because when the soul leaves the body, the body feels nothing under the same conditions.

🤔

Your mind clings to different things but the problem like it was for me is we are not aware it is the soul clinging to something. This is what it is like. My mind or thought goes to something and it stays there as often as it is free from any constructive job. There was a time that my thought was always on how I would meet my financial obligations. My situation would make me so fear filled and sad it was almost going to depression. Someone advised me then to trust God and stop thinking about it. It was tough but God helped me to take my thoughts off it to different things.

🤔

Instead of diverting my thoughts to any random thing now, I fix it on Jesus or a scripture. At first the object of my concern struggles with Jesus in my thought but I consciously bring my mind back to calling Jesus. I have now made it a regular practice to cling my thoughts to Jesus when I have nothing secular duty to sort out.

🤔

I find that Jesus draws close to me and answers me and gives me rest and instructions or insights where need be to solve issues. If you want to draw close to God, then let your thoughts draw close to Him at all times.

🛐

I pray that as you zero your thoughts on God in Jesus, you will feel His presence in Jesus name.
