THE SECURE PLACE FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: A friend visited me yesterday and was worried about the state of insecurity in the country. She was surprised that I was at peace and unshaken and she asked if I am aware of the kidnappings and killings etc. I said to her that I am aware as the news fly around on all communication media. However, I deal with it in a different way that keeps my mind at peace.

I set my heart on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Like on every other thing about my life, I find my security in thoughts of heaven and not the earth. She asked me how and I told her some examples of my thought line.

First, I see that fear and worry, faith, peace and confidence are spiritual entities generated by what you see and choose to fix your thought on in the spiritual realm. If you choose to see the spiritual realm by what you see in the physical realm then you will have fear, worries and all other negative feelings that come with them. If however you choose to see the peace, joy, protection, order, provision, beauty etc of heaven where Christ is seated on the right side of God, then you have the feeling that heaven gives. That is the secret to a peaceful life in a turbulent and chaotic world.

She asked if I don't feel for the people killed and I say that I do feel for them it makes me sad and I pray for the mercy of God upon their souls, comfort for their relations and friends and knowledge of Christ and heaven by everyone. When we know and understand then teach others to know and understand Jesus Christ and heaven, then fear and worry will disappear and faith and power of God will go into action. Tomorrow, we shall consider some stories of people who knew Jesus and how they survived hostile times.

I pray that the Lord will help us to look long enough unto Him till He becomes real to us in Jesus name.
