IDENTITY CLARITY

Jesus continued to press the question more personally: “But who do you yourselves say that I am?” In response, Peter spoke up and said to Him, “You are the Christ!”—the Messiah, the Anointed One of God. Mark 8:29

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: At this dispensation when God and Jesus in particular bring confusion and resentment to many people, it is imperative that each person becomes clear and certain about who God is to him. I read a lot of Christian spiritual literature but I notice that although they are Bible based, they have different names for God and expressions for Jesus. This makes it easy to confuse young believers who are not grounded in scriptures.

Now who is God to you? What name do you give Him? Is He a force or energy? Is he universal wisdom or intelligence? Is He ether that flows in all things? Is He Law? Jesus asked His disciples and He is asking you too today saying ‘who do you call me?’ 

God revealed His different names to the prophets of Old according to His act but not as energy or any of today's names. He is a spiritual personality and the ultimate of the names was revealed by and in Jesus. He is FATHER. The name you call Him will determine how you relate with Him. As Father, you become a member of His family. He is God Almighty yet He is your Father. You have the father/child sample relationship in the ones we see and experience here with our fathers.

Relating with Him as Father is easier and more at home with our nature. Relating with Him as force, law, ether, universal intelligence etc is foreign to our nature and it makes loving and obeying Him difficult. Seeing Him as Father tells us He understands our nature and we have His. We’ll continue with identity clarity about Jesus tomorrow God willing.

I pray that the Lord will open your eyes of understanding to see and know who God really is to you and be proud to say it.
