FAITH GROWS

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Yesterday, we saw Jesus described a Canaanite woman to be of great faith while He described Peter His disciples to be of little faith. We eventually saw Peter become a man of great faith after the death and resurrection of Jesus. Faith does grow and how does that happen?

What made the church in Thessalonica strong in faith? It was persecution for their faith in Christ. They were persecuted but they remained faithful to Christ.

There is this song by Andrea Crouch Through It All. One of the lines says ‘if I didn't have trials, I won't know that God can solve it'. Trials build our faith in God. When you endure trials, your faith grows. You are sure that God will see you through and you will not because of trial deny Christ in thought, word or action.

The church in Thessalonica also  translated fairh into active, visible results, specifically "work produced by faith, [and] labor prompted by love".  As you increase in persevering in trials, being faithful to Christ and showing forth love and service at all times, then your faith keeps growing.

I also learnt to grow my faith by taking note of times I believed God and He performed. That has strengthened my faith greatly. 

The foundation of faith however is by hearing the word of God on which you base your trust. You need to read the word of God. God says He will bless the work of my hands and the world economy says otherwise. I will refuse to agree with what the world says but keep the word of God in my heart and mouth and continue thanking God while I keep doing my business. This is how to grow from little faith to great faith.

I pray that your faith will grow from little to great as you hear the word of Jesus more and more and trust in the word  in the mighty name of Jesus.
