When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked. Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:20-22 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Faith is spirit just as doubt. Both faith and doubt work with the words that are stored deep in your spirit. Faith works on the word of God while doubt works in the realm of the intellect or reasoning of man. Faith works with the word of God knowing that He exists and He made all things by the spoken word while doubt works with the word but it must be within man’s reasoning capacity. Let us see how this works out in the incident for deliberation today.

Jesus knew deep in Him that everything responds to the word so the fig tree withered immediately and no one can eat fruit from it again. The Apostles reasoned like man that it should take time for a tree to wither even if it is uprooted so they had doubts. Abram took the word of God that he would become father of nations. He did not doubt God because of his age and the state of his body and his wife's. He was conscious of his physical state but he overwrote that with the word of God with whom all things are possible. Faith looks up to God and doubt looks down to man. We shall continue looking at people who lived by faith in the bible.

I pray that you will load your spirit with the word and thought of God so that you will be filled with faith in the core of your being in the name of Jesus.
