CHRIST THE KING (PRESIDENT OR PRIME MINISTER)

September 2. Psalms ch 108-109; 1 Corinthians 9:11-27

…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10-11 BSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: When we read that Christ is King these modern times, not many of the younger generations will understand what kingship is all about. That is why I put the modern day equivalent of king in Bible times. Whatever the president or prime minister appends his signature to becomes law by which everyone must abide. The president has authority to allow and disallow anything.

Christ has the authority of God to reign on earth, beneath the earth and above the earth. He demonstrated this authority over every level of creation while on earth. He even raised the dead and rose from the dead Himself.

I love the third stanza of the hymn ‘at the name of Jesus’. It reads:

In your hearts enthrone him!

There let him subdue

All that is not holy,

All that is not true.

Crown him as your Captain,

In temptation's hour;

Let his will enfold you

In its light and pow'r.

If you enthrone Christ in your heart, then nothing that is unholy has a right to stay. Disease, lack, bitterness, unforgiveness, covetousness and other vices have no place in your body except you permit them.

He may be your saviour but you may not allow Him to direct the affairs in your heart. Think about it today and tell yourself to yield control of your life to Jesus instead of any other spirit. I have learnt to do it every morning now.

Thank You Jesus for making me yield my life, thoughts, emotions and actions to You. I am glad for the peace you give me even when situations are turbulent without. Accept my thanks in the name of Jesus.
