KNOW GOD

October 25. Jeremiah ch. 6–7; 1 Timothy 1:10–2:15

KNOW GOD

📖

“You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:22–24 BSB

🤔

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: God is a general name for the Creator, and He made man in His image and likeness from the beginning. He called his name Adam. Adam chose another ‘likeness’ when he obeyed Satan rather than sticking to God's instruction.

🤔

God was not going to let go of Adam but made provision for man to be reconciled with Him. This is where man has to choose and know the God he is serving. The provision God made to restore mankind to Himself was in Jesus Christ, who became Man so that He might restore God's original relationship with whoever believes in Him. It is through Jesus that we can be perfect before God and be like the first Adam, without the likeness of Satan or self.

🤔

It is through faith in Jesus that we can serve God in spirit and in truth. Through faith in Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit of God restored in us, and Jesus is the truth through whom we serve God. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” So, the way back to the original Father-child relationship with God is through Jesus. In Christ, we have the Spirit of God, who speaks to our spirit, and as we obey Him, we are serving God, and there is no more condemnation for us.

🤔

Serving God is not in rules and regulations, rituals, or doctrines but in a spirit yielded to Him. This is tough to take in unless the Spirit of God opens one’s understanding. We shall continue tomorrow to go further in serving God. I leave you to prayerfully think about this today.

🛐

I pray that the Holy Spirit will open the eyes of all who read this to see Jesus and accept Him as their Saviour from the grip of Satan, in the name of Jesus.
