THE WALK AND THE WORK

📖
“Listen now to [me]; I will counsel you, and God will be with you. You shall represent the people before God, bringing their cases and causes to Him, teaching them the decrees and laws, showing them the way they must walk and the work they must do.”
Exodus 18:19-20 AMPC

🤔

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I keep wondering where the church missed it, that she does not serve as the light and salt of the world. I wonder where Elijah, Moses, Elisha, Peter, Paul, and others who spoke for God and He backed them are in our time. The more churches there are, the less the fear of God. Today’s scripture gives an insight into where we erred.

🤔

When Jesus was leaving, He gave the apostles a job description:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20 BSB

He instructed them to make disciples of all nations and teach them everything they had learnt from Him. The messages of money and worldly assets are not what Jesus taught. Like Moses, ministers of God are to teach the flock the mind of God and the way the disciples are to live in love, so that the world will be attracted to them.

🤔

For a time like this, ministers of God should teach the flock righteousness, make them aware of how they should prepare for the return of the Lord, how to persevere in trials, etc. But this has been left for excelling in worldly pursuits. You, as a flock, check what you are being taught by your shepherds and see if you are prepared should Christ come today.

🛐

Dear Father, I pray that You make Your ministers like the sons of Issachar, who understand the times and know what Your children should do, in the name of Jesus.
