THE CORD OF JOY

“Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU:  A friend once said I should do all I can to always keep my joy level up long before I understood scriptures. Then I didn't know what life would throw at me as I went on the journey of the days I had been assigned by my maker. A lot happened that gave me ‘joy’ but I did not know the joy I got from them was temporal and a very weak chord to draw salvation when trials came. I however found favour with God and He supported me in the time of my first major trial which led me to Christ. It was in Christ that I knew real joy.

Real joy is not the emotion of happiness or pleasure that one has when things go well. This joy disappears once conditions change for the worse. 

Real joy is a fruit of the Spirit. It is comforting, content and full of peace. It is an enduring attitude of the heart and spirit, and a natural part of the Christian faith. It is a gift from Jesus to whoever believes in Him and follows Him. It is as you hold on to this joy that you are able to draw from the well of salvation in Christ. To connect with this joy is to connect with the promises of Jesus.  The more you believe in any promise of Jesus, the more joy you have even when conditions are contrary. It is as I remind myself of these promises and keep my mind on them that I have joy even in affliction.

If you need enduring joy, then you need Jesus. Pray asking Jesus to forgive you your sins and I invite Him to come and make your heart His dwelling place. Surrender your life to Him and find a Bible believing and teaching church to join where you will have His word preached. Read your Bible first hand and pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.
