Work While It Is Day

February 10.    Leviticus ch 4-5; Matthew 26:50-75

WORK WHILE IT IS DAY

“We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” ‭‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: In the few cities I have travelled, I see the same trend with the youths. Young able bodied men and women roaming the streets while they should be gainfully employed. Advanced countries have their dole lines filled with young men and women wanting to take government maintenance allowance while there are essential posts that are left unmanned that immigrants come to fill. The rest is what we see and hear everyday. Likewise, in developing countries, many youths roam the streets committing crimes, begging and wasting away. The government is blamed for not providing jobs while jobs are sitting to be done that they are not doing.

We have to work while it is day. Jesus taught this lesson by His own life. He did the work He was here to do while there was still time. Time here is not limited to days but the strength and opportunities that are available. What you can do today that you leave undone becomes your regret of tomorrow.

We are soon coming to an age when robots are replacing man in all professions. I was surprised when I saw robots cleaning at Heathrow airport and one robot was doing the work that five cleaners used to do. There was a time when adverts for cleaners were many but now, they are very few. The times are slowly coming that stones will replace man in maintaining the universe thus giving glory to God. Luke 19:40. The robots are inanimate, ‘stones’ replacing man. They are doing better than men where they are present.

I leave you today to see the young ones around you who are jobless or not pulling their weights. Talk to them about  working while it is day. The times are coming when they will look for work and there will be none or when they see and want to work but the energy is not available.

I pray that we all will wake up to work the work we can do while it is still day in Jesus name.
