LIVING BY THE SPIRIT. 1

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Yesterday, we saw that God has blessed all those in Christ with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. Today, we are going to see how to walk in these blessings so we can have peace, joy and confidence in any condition that life brings our way.

When things are going as I plan or as I desire, I am, like everyone else, at peace and happy but when it is going otherwise, I have to learn how to keep my peace, joy and confidence. This is why yesterday's teaching coupled with the one of today have been useful to me. I pray they do to you as well.

Some years back, I was very short of money and nothing I did yielded any profit yet I had to feed and take care of four children all by myself. I would always see our situation and cry endlessly asking God to help me with all sorts of pleas mixed with complaints. All of it seemed to fall on the deaf side of God and I was always sad and frustrated. Then came this evening when God was going to move. I was so sad and depressed coming from the market to buy some small food and talking to God to help me. For no reason, a flock of birds that had their nests on a big tree by the road were disturbed by God knows what and they all flew out singing loudly. God asked me to look at the birds saying ‘if I feed and keep these birds alive, I am able to feed and keep you and the children I have given you even better. Whenever you lack, remember these birds and see the abundance of supplyp I have with which to feed every creature of mine.’

I had peace, joy and confidence that I will have abundance for living and taking care of my children. My pain and worries were replaced with joy as the vision of those birds stayed with me. Whether business transactions came through or not,  I was confident and happy that God had enough for us and I thanked and praised him always.

Whatever happens since then and in any area of my life, I see God’s solutions in the spirit and I always  make that the object of my joy and living until the solution manifests. While trials last, I rejoice in the perfect life in the spirit in Christ.

I pray that God will keep your gaze upon Him and His ability as you live and move and have your being in Him in Jesus name.
