July 8.  Ezra ch 7-8; Acts 12:1-14

BE FIRM IN YOUR FAITH

…and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, (stand firm in your faith)  surely ye shall not be established. Isaiah 7:9 ASV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The extent that you will enjoy victory in your christian walk is determined by the extent to which you can be firm in your faith. I had a friend who would go to any extent to strengthen her faith when things really got rough and she was like pinned to a corner. One day, she did not know what to do again after praying and praising and nothing seemed to shift in her circumstance. She opened her bible to Jeremiah 33:3 and stood on it saying ‘God, I call on you to show me great and mighty things concerning my situation.’ She stood on that verse saying I am standing on your word. She quoted a couple of other scriptures and wept until she was tired. She laid on her chair to sleep and God gave her a revelation of what to do to have a breakthrough.

I am not saying this should be a practice or doctrine but I am saying that she picked that as a faith extender  for her when the battle became hot and she wanted to be firm in her faith. 

God took Abram out at night to count the number of stars if he could to extend his faith in God and stand firm even when he and his wife could have lost hope of having children. I usually look for a natural order that God alone sustains to hold as my faith extender in times of trial. The boundary of the rising ocean is one of my favourites. The ocean does not pass its boundary to swallow up the land so every trouble has its boundary and can not swallow me up. Look for faith extenders that will make you trust God to the last until  your expected end is established. I leave you to see how you can stand firm in the Lord even when all things seem to the contrary.

I pray that God will hold you like He did Abram and open your eyes to His words and works that never fail so that you can stand on His promise till you are established.
