UNDERSTANDING TRUST IN RELATIONSHIP TO AGREEMENT

“But Jesus, for His part, did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people [and understood the superficiality and fickleness of human nature], and He did not need anyone to testify concerning man [and human nature], for He Himself knew what was in man [in their hearts—in the very core of their being]. [1 Sam 16:7]” ‭‭John‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭AMP‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I learnt how to personally manage trust issues when I knew how Jesus managed it.  The word trust in our context means ‘firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something’. The only person worth trusting is God. Only God has the ability to be reliable, truthful and able to stand with and by me at all times. For this reason, I ask a Christian to agree with me in prayer in obedience to Christ not necessarily because the person is truthful, reliable or has the ability to stand by me or with me. However, I know that Christ’s strength will be made manifest in our weakness. 

Secondly, I do not do or seek what I cannot say in the open. This makes me not to be offended if a person I ask to agree with me in prayer broadcasts it or not. I reason that if what I am seeking agreement in prayer over is to affirm a word of God in my life, a person who is a Christian will agree for the kingdom of God to be established on earth. So make the fulfilment of God’s word the basis of the agreement. Like this, you will not feel betrayed. Remember that the only purpose Jesus lived for is to establish His Father’s kingdom.

If you shift your attention from personal gains to God’s kingdom affairs, trust in God is what is needed from both you and the person you are agreeing with in prayer and not his ability and truthfulness towards you.

I leave you to think about this and see what your agreement with anyone is meant to fulfil and not to trust anyone with your secrets.
