THE BASIC SPIRITUAL WARFARE

September 25. Proverbs ch 28-29; Galatian 1

““Where have you come from?” said the Lord to Satan. “From roaming through the earth,” he replied, “and walking back and forth in it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one on earth like him, a man who is blameless and upright, who fears God and shuns evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.” “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give up all he owns in exchange for his life. But stretch out Your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse You to Your face.”” Job 2:2-5 BSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The bottom line of spiritual warfare is in the book of Job chapters 1 and 2. Every attack that a believer can experience from Satan is placed on Job and for one singular reason to see if Job would deny God.

One interesting aspect of it to me is that it was God who called Satan’s attention to Job. Then Satan told God what he knew about why he thought Job was standing and challenged God to remove His hedge around Job and see if Job would not curse Him. God did but gave Satan a boundary not to touch Job’s life but he could touch everything including his health. So fundamentally, the essence of spiritual warfare is to make man deny God. He tried the same thing with Jesus at the time of temptation in the wilderness and is going to try the same thing on the saints with end time trials. A sound understanding of this foundation of spiritual warfare will make the way to battle easy. Tomorrow, we shall continue with how to overcome the end time trials and stand for God.

Father God, I pray that you will empower me to weather all the wiles of the enemy and stand on Your side no matter what happens in the name of Jesus.
